The pressure caused by the pumping movement has an overall effect, reaching the tail-bone (the sacral part), and all the bones in the body. The frontal sinuses are also directly effected by the cranial sacral system, since the sinuses are surrounded by many cranial bones. The movement of the cranial sutures and the pressure of the brain fluid underneath the skull regulate many body functions, including the hormonal system. There is also a close relation between the position of the spine and the cranial sacral system. In cases of stress the mobility of the cranial sutures may be minimalized or temporarily stopped. This may cause all kinds of problems, like headache, pain in the neck and shoulder, backaches, hormonal disturbances, disturbed functioning of the organs, dizziness, disturbances of equilibrium, depression, anxiety, panic-attacks and fatigue. At the moment of birth the cranial parts are partially sliding across each other to allow for the birth. Therefore, craniall sacral problems are often to be reduced to the moment of birth. Even caesareans and stimulated births generally cause cranial sacral problems. Not seldom problems that infants have with crying or sleeping, or intestinal problems, are due to cranial sacral imbalances. Cranial sacral kinesiology can indeed improve the functioning of the cranial sutures and consequently solve many problems. By exercising very slight pressure on specific locations on the skull, together with other (kinesiological) corrections, the functioning of the cranial sacral system can be improved or permanently corrected. In my practice I apply some correction based upon cranial sacral kinesiology on almost all of my patients. |
